TL;DR: We collect only what we need to run the marketplace. We never sell your data. We use it to match buyers with sellers, send you relevant notifications, and improve the platform. You can delete your account and data at any time.
1. Who we are
SideHustler.in is operated by SideHustler.in Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company incorporated in India. When this policy says "we", "us", or "our", it refers to SideHustler Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and the SideHustler.in platform. Our registered address is available on request at legal@SideHustler.in.
2. What we collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, username, and optionally a profile photo and bio.
Listing data: Information you provide about projects you list, including descriptions, metrics, screenshots, pricing, and supporting documents.
Transaction data: Records of offers made, accepted, or declined; messages between buyers and sellers; and payment records processed through Razorpay.
Usage data: Pages visited, searches performed, listings viewed, time on site, device type, and IP address. We use this to improve the platform and prevent abuse.
Communications: Messages you send through our platform, support tickets, and emails you send to us.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to: operate and improve the SideHustler.in platform; match buyers with relevant listings; send transaction notifications (offer received, message received, listing approved); send our weekly deal alert newsletter (only if you opt in); detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse; comply with legal obligations under Indian law including the IT Act 2000 and its amendments; and respond to your support requests. We do not use your data for advertising to third parties. We do not sell your data. Ever.
4. Data sharing
We share your data only in these limited circumstances:
• With other users: Your public profile information, listings, and (when a deal progresses) contact details are shared with relevant counterparties.
• With service providers: We use Razorpay for payments, AWS for hosting, and Google for analytics. These providers process data on our behalf under strict data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data when required by Indian law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We never share data with advertisers or data brokers.
5. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons (for example, transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax compliance purposes under Indian law).
6. Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) 2023 and applicable Indian law, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; withdraw consent for data processing; and file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India. To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@SideHustler.in. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences. We use analytics cookies (Google Analytics) to understand how the platform is used. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings. We do not use advertising cookies or share cookie data with ad networks.
8. Security
We take security seriously. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. We conduct regular security audits. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt. Payment data is handled exclusively by Razorpay — we never store card numbers or banking credentials. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to security@SideHustler.in.
9. Children
SideHustler.in is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at legal@SideHustler.in and we will delete the account immediately.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email for material changes. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The current version is always available at SideHustler.in/privacy.
